They are doing alot of stuff that college teams do and that Griffin did at Baylor. Its not very similar to what Shanahan teams have done in the past, so I would imagine its caught alot of teams off guard a little bit. Its definitely not a traditional offense.

And just like all the other fad offenses and gimmicks NFL offenses have tried, defenses will catch up eventually.

Triple option is flukey.

It's not their base offense. They use it pretty intermittently and don't rely on it to move the ball.

Against Dallas, 3 of their 4 first half TDs came from what would be considered traditional looks. Simple play action, a designed roll out pass to Moss and they hammered Dallas at the goal line.

But even if they were totally a gimmick offense that used those formations 90% of the time, anyone who thinks that they won't trend towards a more traditional offense as Griffin improves is lying to themselves.

If the hashtagCowboys beat the hashtagBengals on Sunday, and NY loses to the Saints... will you get amped for a playoff push?

Why would you?

There's 3 weeks left after that and they have to win 2 of them. Realistically, they have to win three and need to make sure 1 of them is washington.

I'm guess it's gonna be a little harder to win 3 of 4 without Philly and Cleveland being on the schedule for 3 games.

I watched alot of the Bengals/Chargers game the other day. The first thing I noticed was how similar the Chargers are to us.

The second thing I noticed is Cinci really does have a nice collection of young talent. They apparently have found a way to keep most of their guys on the field instead of in jail, and its vastly improved their team.

That said, the Chargers hung with them pretty well and had plenty of chances to win the game. They have even less running game than we have (far less) and their OL may be even MORE inept than ours. Doesnt look like cold will be a factor there, but it does look like it will rain off and on all weekend. They run the ball alot mroe consistent than we do and do a better job stopping the run, so that could give them a significant edge.

I think we we take care of the football though we will be right in there with them. I dont see their secondary being able to handle our WR's/TE's at all, so if Romo gets any kind of decent pass protection he could have a field day.

You can pretty much give up on that pipe dream.

When's the last time you saw decent protection? Sure as hell wasn't last week and this ain't the helpless Eagles we're talking about.

The chargers also hung in there because they got 3 turnovers. Odds of that happening for Dallas are just about as likely as getting stellar OL play this week.

there is no fucking way dallas wins 4 straight...dallas hail mary shot is if we somehow manage to win 9 games..and that is a stretch in itself

i have the NYG winning 10 games...its not far fetched that they finish 9-7

what do you guys think? Do the Giants win 9 or 10 games?

they are 7-5 and have NO @BAL @ATL Philly left

If you guys are wondering why I'm talking about the playoffs... it's because it's Thursday.

Reality will hit me and put me back in my place come Sunday around 2pm.

He's seeing windows that won't be there when the zone reads die down. If they use his mobility to set up the pass they'll be fine, if they try to reinvent the wheel their burn him off.

He's got a great arm, he'll be at our ass for years. But he's not the best player in the league as micheal Wilbon proclaims.

I'll take 114-32, 2 time MVP, 3 time champ Tom Brady over 6-6 gimmicky RG3 thank you.

I don't think so. Hopefully that game will mean something to the Skins.

DMN staffers offer their predictions for Sunday’s Cowboys-Bengals game in Cincinnati

Tim Cowlishaw: Bengals, 30-16

Cowboys haven’t had to stop a quarterback with second-year Andy Dalton’s experience in a month and he will exploit their defensive holes.

Brandon George: Bengals, 30-24

In a battle of red heads, Bengals QB Andy Dalton trumps Cowboys coach Jason Garrett as Dallas’ playoff hopes suffer a severe blow.

Rick Gosselin: Bengals, 23-20

Mike Zimmer, Terence Newman and Pacman Jones too much for the Cowboys.

Barry Horn: Bengals, 32-23

Pacman Jones and Terence Newman get the last laugh. Andy Dalton-A.J. Green out duels Tony Romo-Dez Bryant

Jon Machota: Bengals, 27-21

Tony Romo has to be nearly perfect for the second consecutive week for the Cowboys to have any chance against Cincy’s overwhelming pass rush.

David Moore: Bengals, 27-17

Is it too much to ask that Les Nessman of WKRP work play-by-play for this game? If you are too young to understand this reference — and hopefully you are — we apologize.

Rainer Sabin: Bengals, 31-23

The Bengals have already defeated the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants. The Cowboys will be their next NFC East victim.

Kevin Sherrington: Bengals, 21-17

Cincinnati’s front 7 too much for Cowboys’ OL, which spends day extending a hand and apologies to its QB.

I had a vision last night...

Cowboys win
Redskins lose
Giants lose

We're all tied at 7-6 with three games to go....

False hope for us, since the entire middle of our defense is gutted and our Oline is putrid... but still. It'll make it interesting.

Also... you want the Panthers to beat Atlanta today.

If the Falcons win, then they lock of home field advantage and they likely coast the rest of the way. Meaning what should be a tough game for New York next week likely turns into a near gimme win as Falcons probably half-ass gameplan and rest players.
